In modern automation systems, there is a need to convert 4-20mA signals generated by field sensors into voltages ranging from 0 to 5V which can be processed in the automation circuitry. PEC resistors are highly accurate in transforming these signals into reliable voltage readings which can be acted upon by the automation systems for any desired action. The resistance used should have close tolerance and low temperature co-efficient of resistance (TCR) to give a precise voltage to the processing system to get the most accurate results from the process control systems.
